"This work describes ventilation pipes outside of an apartment building that I used to live in Jackson Heights, NY. I am often interested in pipe structures since they are always a big part of the urban landscape and they look funny, like figuring out their ways around buildings and spaces, or awkwardly failing to. They are very essential to our urban life, always carrying in and out something very important like gas, water, air, electricity, but they are also hidden in the walls and underground, camouflaged into the background.
Among all kinds of pipes, I am drawn the most to laundry vents since they are the most random-looking kind, not very serious like a gas or water pipe but more lively and wishy-washy, carrying out the laundry smell I like."--Woomin Kim
