Owner/Director – Claudine Isé
Prior to launching Goldfinch, Claudine Isé worked as a writer, curator, and educator; she has worked professionally in the field of contemporary visual art for the past two decades. Isé began her curatorial career as an assistant curator at the Hammer Museum in Los Angeles, then moved to Columbus, OH, to become the associate curator of exhibitions at the Wexner Center for the Arts. In Chicago, Isé has written extensively on contemporary art and culture for publications such as artforum.com, Chicago magazine, the Chicago Tribune, Bad at Sports, New City; she was also the Editor of the Art21 Blog. She currently teaches in the Graduate Painting and Drawing Dept. at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and previously taught in the School of Art and Art History’s Museum and Exhibition Studies Program (MUSE) at the University of Illinois-Chicago. Assistant Director/Gallery Curator – Elizabeth Lalley
Elizabeth Lalley is a Chicago-based writer and independent curator. She received an MA in Museum & Exhibition Studies from the University of Illinois-Chicago, and holds a BA from the University of Michingan where she received the Academy of American Poets Award. Elizabeth has worked for the Chicago Artists Coalition, the Smithsonian Center for Folklife & Cultural Heritage, and the University of Michigan Department of English. She is a Curatorial Fellow with ACRE (Artists’ Cooperative Residency and Exhibitions) and a contributor to Newcity and Chicago Artist Writers.
Freelance Designer – Nicole Gardner
Nicole Gardner is a Chicago-based graphic designer who runs Nicole Gardner Creative. She graduated from Dominican University with a BA in Graphic Design and Apparel Merchandising. Gardner believes in design with intent, and demonstrates this practice through communities and clients that value design in the context of art, culture, and innovative creativity.
